Searching for the right framework in architecture
Exploring architecture as a discipline has shown me that it involves far more than drawing nice structures or planning layouts. There are strategic decisions, system interactions, and layers of planning that all seem equally important. What confuses me is how to approach all this as a beginner. Every book or article seems to emphasize something different, and after a while it becomes difficult to understand which concepts matter most. I’m hoping someone experienced can help me figure out the best starting point and how to build a logical learning path.

Different sources often present architecture in isolated fragments, and that’s why the learning journey feels scattered. A strong way to build clarity is to start with a unified framework that explains relationships between architectural components on multiple levels. In the middle of this learning process, ArchiMate is extremely valuable because it organizes business, application, and technology views in a consistent and understandable structure. By studying it, you can see how organizations design systems, align business goals with technology, and create models that support long-term decisions. It removes the guesswork and helps you see the bigger picture instead of focusing on random details. With this broader understanding, your learning becomes much more coherent and efficient.
